STAR Awards
The STAR Society Awards celebrate the impactful accomplishments of researchers, extensionist, educationist, farmers, etc for their incredible work that can be seen locally and around the globe.
Award winners will each receive a physical award, complimentary registration for the annual conference, and an opportunity to speak during the awards session at the conference.
- STAR National Fellow Award
The STAR National Fellow Award aims to recognize and honor renowned or distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to research, extension work, or education and recognize and reward innovations, scientific advancements in agriculture and allied fields, leading to significant impacts on the country's agricultural development. It will encourage continued excellence and leadership in agriculture, motivating others to pursue high standards of work in research, extension, and education and strengthen collaboration between academia, research institutions, and practical agriculture, ensuring that advancements reach farmers and other stakeholders effectively.
- STAR Associate Fellow Award
The STAR Associate Fellow Award will recognize and honor outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals in the field of agriculture and allied sciences, who have demonstrated exceptional promise and potential for further excellence, typically through significant research, extension work, or practical innovations, contributing to advancements in agricultural practices, education, or stakeholder engagement.
- STAR Gold Medal Award
The STAR Gold Medal is the premier recognition awarded by the STAR Society. This prestigious award recognizes and outstanding contributions made by individuals, institutions, organizations, or agencies toward the advancement and development of the agriculture sector. This prestigious award celebrates excellence in advancing agricultural development, innovation, and impactful work that has significantly improved agricultural practices, research, extension services, education, leadership, coordination with stakeholders, uplifting of socially backward classes and tribal community through application of science and technology, etc. in agriculture, benefitting a wide range of stakeholders.
- STAR Excellence Award
The STAR Gold Medal is the premier recognition awarded by the STAR Society. This prestigious award recognizes and outstanding contributions made by individuals, institutions, organizations, or agencies toward the advancement and development of the agriculture sector. - STAR Community Empowerment Award
The STAR Community Empowerment Award is a prestigious recognition presented by the STAR society, aimed at acknowledging and celebrating the exceptional contributions of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) or institutions that have played a pivotal role in sustainable agriculture development, livelihood security, uplifting and empowering rural communities . This award is designed to highlight and promote efforts that have made a tangible impact on the lives of small and marginal farmers through collective action, sustainable practices, and community-led initiatives.
- STARS Conference Medals: Gold, Silver, and Bronze
The STAR Society offers a unique opportunity for researchers, professionals, and students to showcase their research, extension and education work in agriculture and allied sectors. STAR Society awards Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to participants based on their presentations in the STARS conference. This recognition is intended to encourage and reward excellence in research presentations within the agricultural sector.
- STAR Lifetime Achievement Award
The STAR Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest and most coveted distinction bestowed by STAR society upon persons who have made outstanding contributions and achievements in their chosen disciplines throughout their lives. The honor recognizes their great effect and legacy. The STAR Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes persons for their contributions in science and technology application. It is not an award based on time. It can be granted whenever the Committee wishes to recognize persons.
- Young Scientist Award
The STAR Young Scientist Award is a prestigious recognition established by the Science and Technology Applications Remodel (STAR) Society. It aims to identify and honor young researchers, scientists, academicians and extension professional for their innovative contributions to the field of agriculture teaching, research and extension services and allied sectors. This award motivates early-career professionals to pursue impactful research and contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture, rural livelihoods, and food security.
- Ph. D. Thesis Award
This award is meant exclusively for doctoral thesis related to agricultural sciences from any Indian University. This prize will be awarded to a PhD student or recently qualified PhD fellow who has produced a highly anticipated thesis with great academic potential Each individual award consists of a citation and silver medal (Gold polished). The awards will be given each agriculture and allied subject subject but not more than 1 award in any one of the subject areas. The applications will be assessed by an evaluation committee led by the senior researchers / academicians.
- M.Sc. Thesis Award
This award is meant exclusively for postgraduate thesis related to agricultural sciences from any Indian University. This prize will be awarded to a M.Sc. student or recently qualified M.Sc. fellow who has produced a highly anticipated thesis with great academic potential Each individual award consists of a citation and silver medal (Gold polished). The awards will be given each agriculture and allied subject subject but not more than 1 award in any one of the subject areas. The applications will be assessed by an evaluation committee led by the senior researchers / academicians.
- Academic Excellence Award
This award honors teaching professionals for their teaching excellence, engagement with students on research projects, active participation with students in professional activities, a high academic record, and growth and achievement in their field of expertise.
- STAR Science Communication Awards
This award is honored in two categories, academia : Researchers, academics, and individuals engaged in scientific communication through scholarly publications, academic conferences, active development of science talent in science communication or educational programs.
Another category is journalism: Individuals and media organizations participating in scientific communication through journalism, such as journalists, writers, reporters, etc, who actively participate in science journalism to make influence in the science based on their published content.
