Dr. G.N. Hazarika STAR Excellence Award
The Dr. G.N. Hazarika Excellence Award for outstanding Ph.D. Research in Plant Breeding and Genetics was established by STAR Society to honor the legacy of Dr. G. N. HAZARIKA, Former Director of Research, AAU, Jorhat, Assam. Society’s aims is to ensure that future generations recognize and are inspired by the significant contributions of Dr. G. N. HAZARIKA who have devoted their lives to advancing agriculture in general and Plant Breeding and Genetics in particular.
Objectives:
- To recognize and reward exceptional thesis work by post-graduate students in Plant Breeding and Genetics
- To encourage innovative research in agricultural sciences especially Plant Breeding and Genetics
- To honor the legacy of DR. G.N. HAZARIKA, Former Director of Research, AAU, Jorhat, Assam
Terms and Conditions::
- Eligibility: Ph. D. students in Plant Breeding and Genetics
- Thesis work must be completed within the last two academic years.
- Nomination by the university/college or self-nomination.
- Award will be given annually.
Selection Criteria:
- Originality and significance of research (30%)
- Methodology and scientific rigor (25%)
- Impact on agricultural development (20%)
- Clarity and presentation of thesis (15%)
- Academic record and recommendations (10%)

- Cash Prize: ₹5000
- Certificate of Excellence
- Memento/Trophy
Acknowledgement:
- Award will be named after DR. G.N. HAZARIKA, Former Director of Research, AAU, Jorhat, Assam
- His contribution will be recognized on STAR Society's website and publications.
- Annual report will highlight the award and winner.
